Rafael Yera, who is still currently serving in our armed forces, spent 2 ½ years protecting our borders. After being released from active duty he found him self in search of a job; he contacted the office of Employment Development Department and spoke with a vet. Rep and was informed of several programs that can assist him with training and job placement.
Mr. Yera enrolled into the WIA program at the Wilshire metro WorkSource where he was assisted with job placement and was offered security training. Upon completing his training he was offered a job at the East San Gabriel Valley ROP as a security guard/fire arms instructor. Mr. Yera always expressed his passion to help our veterans. Mr. Yera was offered a job working for Community Career Development /Wilshire-Metro work source center working as a Business Development Associate/Veteran Affairs and Security Officer Training/job Developer. Mr. Yera has been a valuable addition to our team. Mr. Yera said, "Thanks to the Wilshire Metro WorkSource, I received training which led to my employment as an instructor for the East San Gabriel Valley ROP. Now, as a Business Development Associate, Community Career Development has given me the opportunity to assist other Veteran's and job seekers in their search for self sufficient employment. I am grateful to Community Career Development and the Wilshire Metro WorkSource for the opportunities they have presented to me."
