Low-Cost Education

LAUSD's Adult Occupational Schools

Offers a wide range of extremely low-cost training programs from computer classes to medical billing. There are several schools throughout the city. Visit their website to find a school near you.
Tip:  Many of the classes are open enrollment/open exit.  Audit a class before registering.  Also, if you are low-income, ask for a fee waiver.

St. Joseph Center Culinary Training Program

The ten-week Culinary Training Program (CTP) was created in 1991 to prepare individuals for entry-level positions in the food service industry, especially institutional kitchens such as those found in hospital and corporate cafeterias.

Century Community Training Program

The CCTP offers eight-week pre-apprenticeship construction training and employment services at no cost to men and women transitioning from unemployment, welfare, low-income jobs, or incarceration and job placement services for those accepted into the program.

Los Angeles Pacific College

Provides free computerized accounting classes if you are receiving unemployment insurance and accepted into the program.
