Low-Cost Education
Offers a wide range of extremely low-cost training programs from computer classes to medical billing. There are several schools throughout the city. Visit their website to find a school near you.
Tip: Many of the classes are open enrollment/open exit. Audit a class before registering. Also, if you are low-income, ask for a fee waiver.
The ten-week Culinary Training Program (CTP) was created in 1991 to prepare individuals for entry-level positions in the food service industry, especially institutional kitchens such as those found in hospital and corporate cafeterias.
The CCTP offers eight-week pre-apprenticeship construction training and employment services at no cost to men and women transitioning from unemployment, welfare, low-income jobs, or incarceration and job placement services for those accepted into the program.
